Now This Is What I Call A Good Composer.

Before you say that you think you know what this is about, let me tell you that I”m not gonna go all classical on you and declare my love for the legends like Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. I mean, I do like them, but sometimes their music can get a little too.. Classic-y for me. =p

I just had to post this up… Because I can NOT get enough of this composer. Who is he?

Jervy Hou.

He is; in my opinion, one of THE best composers out there. I love all his songs; they seem to ‘speak’ to me, if you will. Normally, I’d think I like a composer, then fall out as only a few songs manage to catch my attention. But this guy here.. I fell in love with his compositions the first time I heard it. Go listen to him, GO GO! ^^

Another of my favourite composers would be isisip, though Jervy still pwns her, in my opinion. xD

Have a listen at one of his compositions, as well as isisip’s, and see if you agree with me. ;)

So This Is What The Fortune Says…

How Ironic. =p

You Wanna Expand? x]

Yesterday, Edward and Jon decided to make an impromptu trip to Ipoh, because they ran out of places to ‘yum cha’ and catch up in Kampar. At first, when Edward told me, I thought he was kidding. =p

So anyways, Amelia was to go along as well. It marks my first time meeting her, and boy, was she a chatter. Kinda reminds me of Ashley, only the more random, talkative version. xp

Next, they decided to watch a movie, and they chose The Expendables. I didn’t mind, but action/war-ish movies were never really my forte.
To cut the story short, we asked Amelia to recommend a place to have our dinner before the movie. After much thought (which took almost half the trip xD ), she finally decided to let us try Michelangelo’s.

She ordered two pizzas, with four different toppings; The Hog, Blue Cheese, Bacon & Eggs, and Salami. The Blue Cheese was ok.. I just found out that blue cheese isn’t my forte either. I’d still very much stick with Cheddar. ^^
The Hog was ok.. Loved the bacon though. ;) Salami was nice, which was a pleasant surprise since I had expected it to be a little like pepperoni. But the Bacon & Eggs..

HOLY MOTHER OF FATTY FOODS, it gave me ‘multiple orgasms’ (in Mr Gino’s words, but according to Ashleigh yesterday, it gave her more than multiple orgasms. xD). It tasted HEAVENLY, almost as if you were eating a bacon & egg sandwich. Amelia loved it too. ;D

Needless to say, at Michelangelo’s, I ate the most slices of pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life: 6.freaking.slices . Oh, and not to mention the breadsticks we had as appetizers, that came with butter-garlic sauce. THAT was delicious as well.

By the end of it, we were stuffed. And happy. ^^

Zoom in to the pic and what do you see? Adult: 1. There were 4 of us la wei… So Edward said the only ‘adult’ was Jon. xD

So anyways we got to Jusco with still time to spare, so we went looking around, after Amelia got the tickets from her mother.

So.

To cut the story short, The Expandables was AWESOME! It was really funny, the effects were great, and the all-star cast lineup was awesome. They even had a short special appearance by Bruce Willis and *in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s voice* THE GOVERNER OF CALIFORNIA. x]

I laughed throughout the movie. The lines were genius. Stallone, if he had come up with those lines himself (being the director of the movie); was a genius. To quote Jon, “It was the only action movie that didn’t have a kiss scene throughout.”

We had some Ice Mixed Fruit after that, and I was stuffed. Dinner had digested over the movie, but I felt stuffed again after the mixed fruit, and we arrived in Kampar around.. 2-3am, I think? And I think we were all happy that day. ^^

P/S: I was supposed to write this the day after the trip, but couldn’t finish it, so I’m writing it today. And that’s when I also realised how… wrong the title sounds. x]

L4D2?

I’ve always wondered what the hype was with  L4Ds, CODs, DOTAs and whatnot that most guys (note that I said  MOST guys, not ALL guys.. in case some of you non-gamers get offended. =B ) spend almost 90% of their time in CCs, playing games till early the next morning.

Ok, this may not be the best  example, but ok, so I was glued to Ghost Online at one point. But it never really ‘took over my life’. (G.O didn’t do it; the internet did. x] )

So I told Edward that one of these days, I wanted to try L4D2, which he and his gang are currently very much into, to see what the hype was all about. He agreed, though I warned him that he had to have patience, because my knowledge was 0. Nada. NIL.

He agreed.

So tonight, after dinner, he took me to the CC to teach me how to play.

As expected,  I was a complete newbie, and ended up shooting my ‘team mates’ more than I shot the zombies. =_= Horrible aiming FTW. xD

But I kinda got the hang of the controls later on, though I still shot my team mates occasionally. xD

The verdict?

It was an OK game. Not VERY nice, but not VERY sucky either. I think I wouldn’t mind as much if the graphics weren’t so.. 3D-ish. It gave me kind of a headache after a while, turning here, turning there, getting lost from turning so much, dying after falling from the first floor because I couldn’t see where I was going, etc. LOL. But it felt nice shooting those fuckers.

Whoops, I just cussed. x]

So yeah, I guess I fail as a Gamer. xp

Of PC Fairs… And Carl’s Jrs. xD

Who knew that going out with a bunch of guys would be fun?

No, I mean it. Seriously.

They were the silliest bunch of guys to hang out with; and half of the time, I only faintly knew what they were saying. They either spoke in Mandarin or Penang Hokkien, but they were so… nice (except Mr Sloh… I’d kill him if he wasn’t. Photobucket ) and silly, I wouldn’t mind going out with them again.

One thing I learnt from going to the PC Fair, though, was the mass difference in Kuantan’s PC Fair and KL. (I can almost hear Edward echoing a very obvious “DUHHHH” or “Wait till you see Penang’s one!” if he reads this) That, and that it sucks to go to the PC Fair as huge as that of KL’s when you have no money. Photobucket There were so many nonsense I wanted to buy (yes, I’m aware that even if I DID have the money, probably half of the things I’d buy, I wouldn’t use for long.. Or maybe I’m wrong. Photobucket ) : Antiviruses (to be honest, I”m sorta getting tired of having to hunt for good, free Antiviruses.. I felt like buying Kaspersky, since it’s one of the best), mouses (God knows how Edward tolerated me getting ‘excited’ everytime I saw a cute/nice mouse…), Digital cameras (goodness knows I could use a better one Photobucket), Video Recorders and Laptops (for what, God knows. I already have a laptop. I’m treating it like a cell phone, wanting to change a new one every so often… Talking about cell phones… Photobucket).

After that Edward was hell bent (ok, not quite, but I like the choice of word Photobucket) on making everyone go for Carl’s Jr for dinner before we went back, since no one else had tried it except for him. Well, of course, finally we all relented. And so he was satisfied. Photobucket

Well I had my fair share of ‘fixtures’ too, so I can’t complain. Photobucket

Ferris Wheels.

I remember the other day when Aimi and I were cycling back from our dinner at Kampar Station. We passed by the little Fun Fair, and I told her that one of the things in my ‘to-do’ list has always been to ride a ferris wheel with my boyfriend/the person I like. I dunno, I find it romantic for some reason to be up high in the ferris wheel, just you and the person you love, and the view of the entire town at your feet.

Ok, so the fun fair being in a school field and right in the middle where the surroundings aren’t exactly as beautiful as that view of Kampar at night, but hey, we gotta be grateful with what we have, no? =p

So I can say that I can now tick that ‘to-do’ off of my list.^^ Doesn’t mean I’m not keeping my options open to a ferris wheel with a better view though. ;) I’m just saying that I’ve ‘accomplished’ that part of the list.

Thank you, Edward. <3

P/S: I’ll upload the picture later, when the internet decides to be nice to me. >_<

Wow.

I had a really nice, unique, one-of-a-kind dream. It’s not the kind you dream often, and to be honest, I’m still mesmerized that I could even dream such a thing.

Let me fill you in on a little something before I start rambling about my dream: I was researching for articles for one of my projects (IMC, to be exact), and I came across this blog by this lady who calls herself ‘witch’, because her blog name is aptly called iamthewitch.com. So as I was searching for articles on food in Kampar (I came across her blog about Vegas Kitchen as I was searching), I came across this blog of hers, and decided to explore further because I wanted to know what her name was, to put in my article. So as I was searching, I clicked her tab labeled ‘Travelogue’, and clicked the link that said ‘Maldives – My Honeymoon’. She went to this hotel in Kandooma, and it was absolutely GORGEOUS, I’m not even kidding. (Go see her blog NOW, I’m telling ya!)

So yeah. I did marvel at the beauty of it and all, but I never really did think much of it. Especially after reading how much per night that hotel cost. >_< You can read about Witch’s honeymoon here, and start drooling and crying over the fact that you might never get to go somewhere so beautiful.

I’m sorry, I kid. Or not. x]]

So what did I dream about?

I don’t remember much in the beginning, all I did remember, though, was that the dream started off with me near the shores of a beach, and me telling someone (who in my dream, I guessed was Edward.. I dunno, it just felt very much  like it =B ) that I wanted to swim with the dolphins.

And yes, I VERY MUCH want to do that in real life too. It has been on my… list of ‘Things To Do Before I Die’, if you will.

Anyways, said someone said that he could do just that for me. Needless to say, I was bloody well excited. We got on this boat that wasn’t really a boat.. More like a sampan-ish kinda boat, actually (which was a little sad.. maybe?), and set off to sea. I remember that the boat was sunk in a little, so that the water was just inches from sploshing in. I also remembered feeling slightly nervous about being so close to the water; because we were in the middle of a huge ocean – I’ve always had a fear of drowning or being stranded in the middle of a vast sea or ocean. >_<

So anyways, the boat came to a slow in some sort of.. weed-ish marsh-ish kinda place, and I asked the guy…- oh fine, let’s just call him Edward to make things easier, k? =.=

Ahem. So. I asked him, confused, if this was the place to ‘swim with the dolphins’ (it was quite.. ok, VERY off from the surroundings where one would swim with the dolphins). He said no, and something about having to do something… and then he whipped out a guitar, and started strumming to a melody and humming. =_=”

I was confused, but then the dream sort of ‘cut’ back to the beautiful sea/ocean, and I saw this little.. swimming pool hut-ish kinda place. Something like the little.. hut thingamabob where they sang 16 Going On 17 in the Sound Of Music. xp

The water was crystal clear (no pun intended, really), and our boat slowly approached the hut. I saw him get down, and the water was only up to his waist. So I got down as well, and looked around, trying to spot any sign of dolphins around.

I didn’t have to look for long. Within seconds, I spotted dolphins swimming close to the surface, towards us.

I can’t describe the feeling I felt at that moment. Even in my dreams, I felt it and it was unforgettable. I reached out to pet them; and I felt as if I could see them smiling. I felt so happy; so at peace, it was indescribable at that moment. Oh, and I also saw and petted a seal! No idea what that meant, though. xD

I also remember getting sort of angry with him (said ‘Edward’, not the seal^^), and when I looked down at the seal, it had a sad sort of expression, and it’s eyes were as if it was trying to tell me something, but then it just swam away.  T_T

Ok, so the dream has been bugging me since I woke up from it this morning, so I did a little research on what it could mean. Here are what I’ve found:

For the dolphin dream: http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/d2.htm

Dolphins

To see a dolphin in your dream, symbolizes spiritual guidance, intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. The dream is usually an inspirational one, encouraging you to utilize your mind to its capacity and move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.

To dream that you are riding a dolphin, represents your optimism and social altruism.

To dream that a dolphin is dying, indicates feeling of despair. You are feeling disconnected.

For the seal dream: http://www.wikihow.com/Interpret-a-Dream-Involving-Seals

  • Is the seal playful and helpful? If so, it is indicative that the seal is wishing to take you through a guided tour of your imagination and is nudging you to take heed of what your creativity is capable of. If you followed it, your dream should have been a very interesting one indeed. Much of the meaning of such a dream will devolve from what else occurred in it as the seal took you around. The role of the seal here is to open the possibilities to you and to gently remind you that you might not be making the most of your talents.
  • Alternately, is the seal beguiling and alluring but does not seem to want to take you anywhere helpful? Does the seal seem to have an agenda to nudge you to somewhere that you find unpleasant or demotivating? If so, this is indicative that the seal is behaving in a deceptive manner. In you waking-life, this could be an indication that somebody is deceiving you, or that you are deceiving yourself about the value of something that you are doing. It may also mean that you have aimed too high and that you are falling short with bad consequences. Lower your aim and be content with what you already have in life.

Heh. I just had to look it up. x]

Festival Of The Minds

It’s been a while, yes.

This time, I’m writing about my one-day experience as part of the crew for the Festival Of The Minds.

We were to report ourselves by 9AM at the Heritage Hall, and we went there by bus, because Rachel wore a skirt. xD That, and taking the bus is a nice change from cycling in the hot sun, and it definitely beats cycling up the hill. ;D

When we reported ourselves, we were almost immediately asked to go to Block D, because a Ms Theresa had something for us to do. What was it?

To be in charge of the media registration/giving out the press releases and showing them the way to DDK1 if they didn’t know where it was.

Turns out we were only backup, so we just stood there and did literally nothing. When Datuk Chua Soi Lek arrived, and every left to go to DDK1, they asked Rachel and I to guard the booth, just in case there were latecomers. So that was all we were asked to do at DDK1, actually.

That, and take PICTURES! xD

Yes, I am aware that I look horrible, thank you. Thank goodness the picture appeared small somehow. =p

After that was done, we walked back to block A, because we were supposed to usher the VIPs to the refreshments. But when we arrived, Calvin (the guy in charge) was no where to be seen. We waited for a few minutes, and when he still hadn’t shown up, we decided to help out at the registration counter (who looked like they could use 2 extra pairs of hands). Also because we felt guilty if we didn’t do anything. =p We walked up to them and asked if they needed help, to which they gratefully accepted.

(P/S: we saw Calvin later, and he said we could help out with anything we wanted to.)

What did we have to do? Hand people the registration slips, and give them the goody bags. Easy enough.

Well, try doing that for the rest of the day. Especially when it got towards the evening, when not many people go through those doors anymore. We were literally bored to death, and my heels (not quite, but still) were killing me.

We ended up doing ‘poster-rolling’ duty, where we rolled up the posters to be put in the goody bag. We seized each small bundle that was given to us, almost ‘fighting’ for it. Yeah, we were that bored. xD

When all the posters were rolled up and placed in their respective bags, all of us sat down, looking rather at a lost for what to do. A few sighs were heard, then Fang Yi suggested that we roll up the flyers now, for what, she had no idea. We all burst out laughing. then I suggested taking the posters down from the pillars and walls, and rolling them, just for something to do. xD

After a while, and after a bit of chit chat with the lecturers in charge of the registration booth, Fang Yi and her friends started doing something with the registration papers. Rachel and I immediately asked if there was anything to do. “Gooottttt… But these are mine! Cannot touch!” Fang Yi said, arms open in a protective manner in attempt to cover the registration slips. xD

I found it hilarious how we were so bored that we grabbed any work (that didn’t involve leaving the booth xD) that arose. Like we were fighting for something precious. LOL.

Ignore This.. Just Feeling A Little Down.

If I should stay
I would only be in your way
So I’ll go, but I know
I’ll think of you every step of the way

And I will always love you
I will always love you
You, my darling you

Bittersweet memories
that is all I’m taking with me
So, goodbye. Please, don’t cry
We both know I’m not what you, you need

And I will always love you
I will always love you

I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you’ve dreamed of
And I wish to you, joy and happiness
But above all this, I wish you love

And I will always love you.

You, darling, I love you
Ooh, I’ll always, I’ll always love you.

Tell Him.. Told Him? ^^

I’m scared, so afraid to show I care
Will he think me weak if I tremble when I speak?
Ooh, what if there’s another one he’s thinking of?
Maybe he’s in love, I’d feel like a fool
Life can be so cruel, I don’t know what to do

I’ve been there with my heart out in my hand
But what you must understand
You can’t let the chance to love him pass you by

Tell him, tell him that the sun and moon rise in his eyes
Reach out to him
And whisper tender words so soft and sweet
I’ll hold him close to feel his heart beat
Love will be the gift you give yourself

Touch him with the gentleness you feel inside, I feel it
Your love can’t be denied, the truth will set you free
You’ll have what’s meant to be, all in time you’ll see

Ooh, I love him (then show him)
Of that much I can be sure (hold him close to you)
I don’t think I could endure if I let him walk away
When I have so much to say

Tell him, tell him that the sun and moon rise in his eyes
Reach out to him
And whisper tender words so soft and sweet
Hold him close to feel his heart beat
Love will be the gift you give yourself

Love is light that surely glows
In the hearts of those who know
It’s a steady flame that grows

Feed the fire with all the passion you can show
Tonight love will assume its place
This memory time cannot erase
Your faith will lead love where it has to go

Tell him, tell him that the sun and moon rise in his eyes
Reach out to him
And whisper, whisper words so soft and sweet
Hold him close to feel his heart beat
Love will be the gift you give yourself

Ooh, never let him go
